Here at Yankee Point we have been monitoring the weather and have been reviewing the projected track of Tropical Storm Debby.
Based upon the current forecast and projections, we do not feel that this storm will warrant the need to initiate the hurricane haul out program. It appears the most likely impact here at Yankee Point will be a very wet weekend.
As with any tropical system, there is always a chance that the forecast will change and we will continue to be vigilant. We would encourage all of our slip holders to visit your boats personally and ensure that your batteries are charged, and that your bilge pumps are fully functional. It never hurts before an event like this to double up lines, and ensure that your sails are properly secured.
Our team here at Yankee Point will be more than happy to assist in this endeavor. Should you not be able to visit your boat, your point of contact for coordinating these efforts will be our dockmaster Jimmy Novak, He can be reached by phone or by email. The main number is 804-462-7635 and his email is jimmy@yankeepointmarina.com
In closing, we will continue to monitor the storm and if the plan needs to change we stand ready to do so.
